I created this sound to add to the freesound. Org library of sound, because, to obtain use on a sound here, one of the stipulations was that i had to add a sound here at freesound. Org. I love sounds. My senses have always naturally been fine tuned to appreciate the subtle cues in sounds, although, as an artist, i am more drawn to create music or visual art, rather than sounds, but i gave it my best try here. This is a sound i have been doing for years, since a very young child actually. Basically the sound is achieved by making three sounds with my mouth. . . 1. Sucking my lips together, and then opening my mouth, 2. Bringing lips back together and forcing air out 3. And then the sound of my tongue pressed just under my front teeth, and flicking my tongue down. I do this very fast. Enjoy!.

They add a bit of magical flare when the tarot card reader turns over a card. Coming hair: you can hear the typical crunch of tangled hair being combed out. You can hear the hairbrush gliding through the hair. It varies in tempo and rhythm to add realism to this sound. As she struggles with the knots it is slow but picks up tempo as her hair becomes less tangled. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg in a recording studio. Great for any make-over montage or scene.

One morning i woke up and found i had a mouse/rat trapped, but still alive. It was making squeaking sounds, so i recorded them, edited out the noise as much as i knew how to, and amplified the whole thing. The mouse was disposed of shortly afterward. Production step :this sound is from a sound recording of a key hiting an iron bar. I take just one sound from my reccording and copy/paste in a new track. I amplify the sound and do a low pass filter. I copy paste my track and create another one just above. I move this new track for create a gap between the two tracks. On the second track i supress some of the beat for create a rythm. On the second track i change the pitch, for making a sound more high-pitched. Description :this sound looks like the ring of a bell tower. The rythm change every two bars who makes him unique and not settled. An early morning recording made at 7:30am on sunday april 2nd, 2017 in a large field bordered by heavy woods. . . . Beyond the woods is a large lake and, with headphones on, you might be able to hear the sound of boats on the lake. It was sunny, but, a typical cold early spring day. Temp was 43 degrees with a slight breeze making it feel like 37. But, that did not stop the birds from putting on a chorus. I captured this sound on my canon powershot a460 digital camera. It was a horrible night, with strong winds and heavy rain. I went to my garden shed and positioned my camera at the small window inside my shed as there is a small hole in the right hand corner of the window, and through this small hole the wind blows through it making this whistle sound, almost like a flute. This is the sound made by the needle crossing the linen cloth during my wife's embroidery sessions. The fabric is under extreme tension in a special wooden frame, it's like a tambourine skin. So when she stitches, the needle goes through the fabric (linen) and therefrom comes the main noise (like a door w/o grease). A second noise is a kind of dry "pop". It's when the thread finishes to run across the fabric, a tiny loop is stuck and the relased, making the fabric jump like a drum skin once again. Sound taken the 15th of march 2021, in brittany, france, using a xiao redmi smartphone.

A sample that was made completely by accident. I was recording outside my local park and trying to capture the bird calls (with a semi-successful effort - too much motorway noise is a bit of a bummer) one morning and aimed my uchó pro at the ground as i stood on a sludgey leaves and wet sticks with the input too high - overdriving it but also somehow making a gore sound effect. When i imported it to reaper, time-shifting it - i spotted the unique flavor of crunchiness and wetness it gave.

These are a series of gunshots that are supposed to resemble a laser sort of weapon, like an alien weapon. To make this, i used a filter that has a vocoder, polyvox, and talkbox, with distortion added. The initial sound i'm making is a chirping with my mouth and the filter does the rest. I think this works well on its own but it should work well mixed in with another sound effect if you choose to mix it. There is no reverb added or environment effects so its very flexible. Feel free to use it however you like. Credit is appreciated but not necessary. If you do want to give credit, please give credit to cooljunk productions. Thank you.

This helicopter sound design was created at fl studio, in the sytrus synthesizer. The sound consists of four layers. 1. Sine wave frequency of 44 hz. Simulates the low frequency noise of propeller blades. 2. White noise passed through the svf filter. Simulates the noise of propeller blades. 3. Saw wave. Simulates the sound of an engine. 4. The sine wave. Imitates a high-frequency whistle of the engine. Various modulations are applied to all waves through the envelopes of the synthesizer. Next, the signal on the mixer channel is processed by a multi-band exciter and equalizer. Then a signal was sent to two channels with delay processing. One of them imitates reflections. In the lower-middle frequency range. On the second in the upper-middle frequency range. As you approach the sound source, the volume parameters of the direct and reflected signals are automated, low pass filter, pan width and equalization of direct sound. The helicopter performs strange maneuvers, as if making constant circles during the approach to the listener. I did not seek to create the veracity of these maneuvers.

At the end of the day, it was dark outside, the whole university-building was empty, dark and had some spooky corridors/halls, and we were still there. Just before we were about to leave the building, we took the audio room and recorded my voice instantly so we could use this sound the next day for the game (the university game jam lasted for 1,5 days). This was hella tough to make! and i used this program that turns picture into sound. It has paint tools, and you start with a black canvas, you draw up a pattern on it, and depending on the color, position, size, quality, format and translucency of the marks and lines you placed, you get sounds. But it is really hard to get a hang of! this took me 3 days to get it right! please comment and rate, i worked really hard on this! by the way, i'll be making more of these, so if you like it, then i have three more.

Pistol fired outdoors with ricochet. Single shot, fairly close, with fast fadeout. Narrow stereo image, no panning, almost monophonic. Wholly synthesized. No weapon was fired in the making of this sound. It's an emulated sound effect of a sidearm gunshot with a cliche ricochet sound, like in the vintage western movies and ww2 films that they showed on tv when i was a kid. Can be used in a game, perhaps, or a none-too-serious vidclip. The sound of the pistol cartridge explosion is default flstudio kick, clap and snare slowed right down. A single tap of delay is added to lend an impression of echo off a middle distance hard surface. The ricochet noise was made with sytrus running as a vsti inside flstudio. It took an entire day of head scratching, oscillator tweaking and envelope mangling to get something that reasonably resembles a sound that i recall from the old movies. I think i'll shoot myself before i try something like this again. :). Plus the usual flstudio compressors, eq, reverb and delay - nothing tricky, just standard stuff.

This is a recording of an escalator at the main bus station in helsinki, finland. I heard it making this sound one day. It was quite loud in the space and i heard if from far away. It sounded like a street performer playing an odd instrument. I imagined that a drummer would have had fun jamming along with this. I missed the opportunity to record it that week, but luckily the thing wasn't fixed the next week when i was again at the same place. This was recorded with iphone xr, so it's not super quality (i actually took a video really close to the escalator, hoping the video recording gives the best sound), but maybe somebody finds some use for this (the sound can likely be well isolated). This is as unprocessed as it can be, straight from the original video.

I drove my car into a wall; and recorded the proximity alert from it. I then washed it through audacity; slowed it 23%; and trimmed the edges. The result? -chilling. A few indistinct gulps cool the atmosphere a little more. It's not the making of a corpse - but it sounds a bit like it?. Recorded late at night in my car by my home with the engine off in fog - so the sound is 'hollowed' by the atmosphere. Recorded using a sennheiser mke300 'shotgun' mic. This is for a video game i was making, but i figured it would be a good idea to share this with everyone. This is supposed to be the sound of a wooden container being violently smashed open, such as a barrel or a box, or even possibly a wooden wall. I borrowed a few sounds from the site, tweaked a little of course, and also added some powerful white noise effects to indicate a hard smash. With some layering with twigs cracking and pieces of wood falling on the floor, i think it sounds pretty authentic. . . Or as authentic as it can get!.

This is a very quick and dirty lo-fi recording of a very unsettling noise i am currently hearing outside of my 2nd story bedroom window. I have no clue what it could be. I have lived here for over a decade and never heard this sound. It's like wind, but it keeps fading in and disappearing again. When it starts, it sounding like very rapid, almost whistling, shallow breathing. I can't imagine what is making this sound, but it's pretty unnerving, and i'm too creeped out to open the curtains. I'm hoping someone can recognize this and tell me what this is because i'm starting to get very uncomfortable after about 10 minutes of hearing this on and off again. I am attempting to record it as it happens, so i've got several recorded instances of this if you want to hear more of it.

This one was also made in sylenth1, its a pretty dirty gritty sounding patch i made. Has a bit of the 'decimate' bitcrusher (sylenths', and i also added a bass amp in logic to fatten the sound up, its played in g. I always name my loops with the first letter on its key hence the name ghost chord=) , and is a loop made at 128bpm. Feel free to use it in any of your works + more importantly let me know why you like it?i take quite some time into adding details in my sounds. I find making a loop can be very good for tuning your ears & production techniques, because like an artist if your painting something small u add a lot more detail. Recently we purchased a scale from ikea, when we finally got around to using it we realized that it must be off, as i do not weigh 240 lbs. As we did not have a receipt, or the desire to drive 2 hours to return a $10 scale the only course of action left to me was to take the damn thing apart and record its insides. (what else?). I recorded and edited together around 7 and a half minutes of various configurations and performances of me making some sort of repetitive, engine-like sound. I can foresee myself using these sounds for an old-timey engine or car. Recorded with a rode ntg-3 at 96/24.

From 1:00-2:00in the sky a long way behind me and to the left, but somewhat far in the air, a group of birds are fighting above a large group of trees that are shaped like a ball of veins. Most of the birds are crows, or just black birds; each noise they make is a series of “caws” no different from each other in pitch, tone, or frequency. There's also the sound of 3 small birds directly to my right around 5 meters away from me, making loud but shrill chirping sounds. The birds are each the same size but and are hopping around the perimeter of a cactus right behind them. The wind blows onto the right side of my body and the front of my body. Waves from the ocean are crashing directly behind me, each in long sessions. The way they sound is consistent, like the sound of rain. Occasionally one of the waves will crash, increasing in volume but not in pitch or tone.

I recently contributed a track to a triple lp set of krautrock cover versions ("head music 2", released by fruits de mer records, december 2020). The song i chose to cover was kraftwerk's "autobahn". If you know the track, you'll know that it uses synthesised traffic sounds alongside recordings of the same. On my version, i achieved these in three ways:. 1) i downloaded some public domain traffic sound effects from elsewhere here on freesound. Org (thanks, guys!). 2) i got in my car with my zoom recorder and made my own recordings of the engine starting, stopping, etc. 3) i made my own sound effects using virtual synths and effects in ableton live 10. This particular sound falls into the third category. Let me stress that while the song "autobahn" is copyrighted, these are isolated sound effects and are not covered by copyright. I'm making them available here under a public domain licence. If you download and use any of these samples, please let me know in the comments what you did with them. This is a mix of deep boom sounds i mixed together. Probably like 30 or more sounds to get just what i wanted, even my own voice mixed in there somewhere. Figured others might find this useful. Might as well say what i used this for. So in making a big huge video for my family, where i've filmed them doing certain things and not tell them why, to which i'll present the video when we all get together for christmas eve, 2019. Theres also a part where i hosted a picnic, filmed everyone, and then asked them to karate chop or kick towards the camera. The next day i went with a crew and filmed ninjas around the park. Edited together with the family attacking the ninjas then the ninjas falling back and exploding with a particle effect on after effects. This is the main sound heard when that happens. I made a few others using this base sound. While i'm bad myself at leaving comments, comments are always welcome to hear what someone used the sound for. Thanks.

(recorder: zoomh4npro 2018)(microphones: binaural roland cs-10em in-ear monitors). As these are recorded using binaural in-ear mics, i purposefully don't turn my head to keep the sound clean and coming from the same direction. The amtrak pacific surfliner winds it'd way up and down the pacific coast coast. This train is known for spectacular coastal views. Here you can hear this high-speed train come screaming through burbank's downtown station (traffic can be heard on i-5 in the distance). You will hear a security guard walk behind me just before the train comes through. He was one of our trusty transpo officers making sure i wasn't up to no good with my zoomh4n device. Thanks for keeping us all safe officers!. The train makes a pass from right to left and i kept recording so you would have some room-tone at the tail. Enjoy!. Christopher c. Courter.

As with my other sounds, i prefer quality over quantity. Here is another sound file that i developed over a couple of days. Similar to ss's pulse cannons, this one features a military battle featuring tanks, helicopters, jets, and strafing runs using high caliber chainguns. A lot of explosions and rocket fire is heard as well, and the audio is a bit loud. Sounds edited in audacity, some sounds recorded irl using my dslr camera system, the mixing was done using filmora9. The freesound files used is listed in the sound sources, rest is what i used online and irl. I did this out of boredom while playing shooter games, since i'm working with 3d modeling i'm getting back into making my own sounds for my games. This one is free to use with credit, and with the right editing software you can change the volume if needed. Non-functional tube radio warming up, making a loud 60hz hum with lots of harmonics. As a bonus it clicks off at the end. Zenith consoltone. Only because the faq says so: electro voice n/d 257a through impedance transformer into crappy gigabyte motherboard realtek high definition audio. 16bits, processed at 32bits. Audacity sound editor and/or driver wouldn't record mic level so it was very noisy after amplification. Filtered with a (mathematically equivalent) fft constructed whopping 64k length zero phase filter (blackman window) with 5 wavelength width bandpass at each harmonic from 60hz to 5,520hz. For some reason a fraction of some of the harmonics didn't get through so did another pass on the residual noise and mixed that in. Near the beginning there was a sort of brief duplicate signal that descended in pitch so it didn't make it through the filter. I added that bit in. Attenuated frequencies above 3. 6khz because they are pretty much noise, but removing them didn't sound right. Cleaned up the beginning a bit in various ways, cut it down to 15 sec and carefully appended the unfiltered "click" onto the end, which i denoised 12db with audacity's noise reduction.

While working on another audiobook, i decided to make this sound. It's 38 voices, each saying different things, panned around and mixed together, creating a "wall of sound" that speaks like 38 radio channels at once. Recorded with a zoom h2 via usb into ardour2. Mixed and exported to flac with ardour2. Ps: it's all polish (with some possible german shout-outs), but the amount of noise makes it almost completely incomprehensible. Only a few words that are being yelled in a different voice can be understood. No sound repeats here, no recycling - every voice and every second of this recording is unique. Yes, it required quite a lot of work to record so much talking in quality! it's almost an entire audiobook squeezed into 5 minutes. Strangely (or not) listening to this makes my mind rest, because the noise blocks all other sounds from the environment - making my mind free of stimulation, allowing for sleep-like rest state. The signal is so much modulated that it appears to be not modulated at all - like static you get from a fm radio of you tune it wrong. The brain receives less data when you listen to this, than when you sit in a room hearing even faint (but distinct) noises from outside, other rooms, other people or yourself. This is sound masking in action. A very interesting psychoacoustic property of human hearing. Also: this is an interesting material to study of my voice's spectral energy distribution while speaking (as opposed to singing). As you can see using the spectrogram view, most energy is present in the band below 600 hz.

This recording was made in the path of totality of the august 21st 2017 eclipse, in the woods surrounding devil's kitchen lake in southern illinois. It's a stereo extract from a longer, 88 minute b format recording. The purpose of making the recording was to see how the eclipse affected the sounds produced by insects and birds. In this extract, totality occurs exactly 10:00 minutes in; and ends at exactly 12:38. This mirrors the time totality occurred at devil's kitchen lake: from 1:20:27pm to 1:23:05pm central time.
